Griswold BOE March 13, 2025 Honorees
At the Board of Education meeting on Thursday, March 13, 2025, Superintendent McKenna and the Board recognized two individuals for their hard work and contributions to moving Griswold Forward. Recognitions at the meeting included honoring our monthly Griswold Forward Recipient and our Employee of the Quarter.
Myra Gomez was recognized as the Griswold Forward recipient of the month. Myra has been serving as a long-term substitute teacher in Kindergarten at Griswold Elementary School, where she consistently demonstrates a deep passion for early childhood education. Her time at GES has been marked by dedication, compassion, and a commitment to fostering a nurturing learning environment. She approaches each day with enthusiasm, creating engaging and developmentally appropriate activities that captivate our young learners. Her ability to design lessons that foster a love and joy for learning is evident in the students' eagerness to participate and explore. Beyond Myra's instruction, there is remarkable kindness and empathy towards both students and staff. She has cultivated a classroom atmosphere characterized by respect, ensuring that each child feels valued. Myra's interactions with colleagues are equally commendable, marked by collaboration and a willingness to support our educational community.
Rebecca Rodriguez-Moore was recognized as the Employee of the Quarter for the third quarter of the 2024-2025 school year. Rebecca was nominated by her colleagues for her tireless efforts to support both students and teachers at GHS and GMS as the school district navigates the challenges of delivering instruction to an increasing number of English language learners. Her exceptional ability to connect with students, regardless of their first language, ensures that every learner feels supported and valued. Rebecca's boundless energy and sense of humor make her an invaluable colleague and a joy to work with.
Congratulations to both Myra and Rebecca!
The Griswold BOE deeply values all students, all families, and all employees. The Griswold Board makes it a point to take time at their meetings to recognize the remarkable contributions of outstanding individuals in our community.
