Board of Education Recognizes Two GPS Employees for Excellence

At a special Board of Education meeting held on Tuesday, June 10, 2025, Superintendent Sean McKenna and the Board honored two outstanding members of the Griswold Public Schools community for their contributions to advancing our district’s mission and vision.

Corey Beck, Network Specialist in the GPS Technology Department, was named Outstanding Employee of the 4th Quarter for the 2024–2025 school year. Corey supports all four buildings across the district, partnering daily with faculty and staff to resolve technology challenges related to Chromebooks, staff devices, and printers. Known for his responsiveness, reliability, and positive attitude, Corey was nominated multiple times for this recognition. He also manages our district Print Shop, producing high-quality programs, certificates, posters, and more. Congratulations to Corey on this well-deserved honor.

Laurie LaBossiere, Library Media Specialist at Griswold Middle School, was recognized for being named Connecticut’s 2025 SchoolAI Educator of the Year. Laurie has been a leader in guiding GPS’s thoughtful implementation of AI in instruction. She collaborates closely with teachers to design engaging, standards-aligned lessons that responsibly integrate AI tools. Beyond the classroom, Laurie co-leads an after-school professional learning group focused on future-ready teaching strategies and innovation. We are incredibly proud of Laurie’s state-level recognition and her leadership in this important space.

TThe Griswold Board of Education remains committed to recognizing the incredible work of students, families, and staff. These recognitions reflect the people who help move Griswold Forward every day.
